Backlinks

A very important part of getting your site search engine optimised is to get incoming links from other high quality sites. This tells the search engine that your content is worthy and you will appear higher in the search results.

I want to point out 2 free tools that you can use to see who is linking to you.

The first one is at iwebtool.com, it shows you who has linked to you and what their pagerank is.

The second is at webuildpages.com and along with who has linked to you, also displays the anchor text used.

All very interesting stuff. I hope these free tools help you on your way to a very succesful website.

Let me know if you know of any other useful tools we could highlight.

Ed Dale’s 30 day challenge

I came across this site the other day and was surprised how much information was there. From what i have seen so far I would thoroughly recommend going through the material there. There is a lot of information just on using things like RSS feeds and other Web 2.0 technologies.

The 30 day challenge site.

There is also the 30 day challenge pre-season information which will get you up to speed with the tools and techniques required.

Let me know what you think.

Onlineresearchlabs.com

I came across this site a few days ago and have been going through the lessons.

It is very well structured and comprehensive. It details the whole internet marketing process from start to finish. I thought it worth mentioning as it echoes many of the philosophies and thinking of the best internet marketers.

Take a look at onlineresearchlabs.com as I’m sure you will find a lot of good information there.

Outsourcing

Yesterday I took my first steps into the offshore outsourcing world. I posted a project (website) I would like to develop on Elance in the hope of finding a web developer to create the site.

Within a few hours I had 15 quotations varying from $US1300 all the way up to $US80000.

There were a few quotes under the $US2000 mark and some of them had a lot of good feedback and favourable reviews.

Over the next few days I will work on choosing the one developer for the job and hopefully get things moving.

Good Podcast – ebusinessmap.com

I was looking for internet marketing podcasts on iTunes and came across Matthew Ryan’s eBusinessMap show. It is full of great information as it takes you step-by-step through what you need to do to create a passive income via the internet.

On one of his podcasts he mentions a great tool called the McDar Keyword Analysis Tool. Go take a look and have a play with it. This will give you an insight into how the search engines are seeing a particular website.

Also Matthew is happy for you to email him directly with any questions or comments you may have. This is very important as nost of us entrepreneurial types don’t have many people around us who understand what we are trying to achieve. The more people we can network with that are on our same wavelength, the quicker we will become successful.

Just Start!

I just wanted to stress again how important it is to stop procrastinating and just get started. It may not be obvious to you at the start what direction you will take but starting gives you that perspective as time goes on.

Think of it like getting in your car and driving. When you first turn the key and start moving, you can’t see what’s around the next corner. As you approach the corner your view of what’s coming up becomes clearer and clearer until you can see around the corner to what is next in the road.

The reason I wanted to reiterate this is because, while I was doing some keyword research on this site, I noticed I was now linked from one of the internet’s more popular sites!

This is exciting for me because the more credible and popular a site is that links to you, the more kudos it gives your site and consequently the higher your site will appear in search results. This directly affects how many visitors you will get.

Take a look at the 2 links from Tubetorial, a site with a pagerank of 7/10 on Google.

So what are you waiting for?

Internet Business Mastery Coaching program

This week I applied for a place in Jay and Sterling’s Internet Business Mastery Coaching program. There are only 25 slots available and I was lucky enough to be accepted. The course is not cheap at around $US2000 but I hope to recoup this and more.

I am not usually the type of person who ‘signs up’ for these type of programs as I usually can learn what I need on my own. This time however I was swayed by the fact that the Internet Business Mastery Podcast has been invaluable to me and I am sure I will be abel to fast track my Internet Marketing career with these help of these guys.

Wish me luck!

Quick Update

I just wanted to check in with an update.

I have just moved all my domains over to the new hosting site and set up blogs on them. I have added Google Ads to my sites and have started being paid a few cents a day (well it’s a start).

While I was in Brisbane I was able to come up with a long list of ideas and plans that I will slowly implement over the coming weeks.

Content Creation Road Trip

OK, I am off to Brisbane tomorrow to spend some time in the mountains. It is an 1800km drive so I should have plenty of time to come up with some new ideas. The reason for my trip is to produce some content to get my internet business up and running. I figure the peace and quiet will allow me to maximise creativity.

Anyway that’s it for now. The next post will be
sent from the road!
